I’m gearing up to purchase a new Razer Blade once they get refreshed with the 20 series GPUs and had a crazy thought.

I travel a lot for work and find that teathering my computer to my cellphone can frequently be a better option than whatever cheap internet my hotel or Airbnb has. I was wondering, is it possible to replace a m.2 wifi/bluetooth adapter with something thats LTE enabled?

Is there a reason why people dont do this? I’ve scoured the internet and cant find any instances of anyone trying this mod, possibly because I’m not sure if I know the correct search terms.

Problem is you need the antennas, it won't be as simple as putting a card in.

If you want a laptop with cellurar you can buy them, there found in most highend buiness grade laptops like the thindpad t and x and the dell latitude 5000 and 7000 series.Insert other media

Forgive my ignorance if this is a far more complex problem than I’m making it out to be, but dont most laptops already have antennas stuck to the m.2 cards that usually come with them? I pulled apart a 2016 mbp a few months ago and distinctly remember pulling those off.

Could it be that LTE antennas are somehow different?

all the antennas are different, so a bluetooth antenna is different from a 2.4g wifi and a 5g wifi.

WIFI and LTE need different antennas.  On the left UMTS and on the right two wlan antennas. Using a M.2 to usb and a lte stick might work with poor reception.

Could I potentially buy the missing antenna and attemp to place it in an area less obstructed by the aluminum body, like the rear exhaust? That m.2 to usb idea is great too, ill do research to see if that’ll fit in that area.

Internal air cards usually don't have a place for a sim, they rely on the manufacturer to have the sim slot someplace else.  If you are thinking of a USB option,  just get a rocket stick.
