Help me Animate!

So I used to animate all the time, just shitty 2d cartoons that look like a child made them in MS paint. its been a 2 year hiatus and I would like to get back into it and build up drawing and animation skill.

 

my old issue is that im not the best at being creative, im better at being told what to do and then doing it. when I say the word "animate" all my brain is thinking right now is to animate a burger being made. like the bottom bun then the meat falling on it then the cheese etc..

 

so i'm hoping one or a few of you can give me some ideas of things to animate. just keep in mind that im not very good at it and im pretty much starting over other then me knowing the basics since its been so long. so don't comment some crazy long action cartoon. im more looking for short simple things like my burger idea.

 

P.S. I still need to find my wacom tablet so it might be a few days before I even start, I think its at my parents house and I no longer live with them.

best idea... 

 

a kid will not get off of the ps4 but his dad wants to play... so the dad grabs a machete and slashes the controller in half and then through his son’s neck... then he runs to the store, grabs duct tape, and tapes the controller together.. then starts playing. then, his son started rotting so he used the duct tape to tape his head back on

you must have seen some dark things in your life. but I could maybe try it.

If you don't animate a @LinusTech dropping things montage, you're missing out.
