You're using less than a 1/10th of the wattage it can dole out. Platinum has no standard efficiency rating for 10% output so you're likely to fall below the 92% (I believe it's 92% for Platinum at 20% output) since they can fall below their rating anywhere that isn't measured.

You're only using 122W of power.

It's not 94% efficiency from 0W ~ 1500W.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/corsair-ax1500i-titanium-power-supply,4276-5.html

PSUs are usually most efficient (very close to advertised) in the 20% ~ 85% load range.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Rig

  • AMD R7 9800X3D + Alphacool CORE 1 w/ Performance Mount Kit + Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact Frame
  • Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro Ice
  • 32GB (16GB X2) G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6400
  • Sapphire NITRO+ 6800 XT Special Edition + EKwb Full Cover Block
  • Custom Loop w/ 2x 360mm Radiators
  • WD SN850X + WD SN750 + Samsung 980
  • EVGA P2 850W + Red/White CableMod Cables
  • Lian-Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL

AMD Ryzen 5000 Rig

  • AMD R7-5800X
  • Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC
  • 32GB (16GB X 2) Crucial Ballistix RGB DDR4-3600
  • Gigabyte Vision RTX 3060 Ti OC
  • EKwb D-RGB 360mm AIO
  • Intel 660p NVMe 1TB + Crucial MX500 1TB + WD Black 1TB HDD
  • EVGA P2 850W + White CableMod cables
  • Lian-Li LanCool II Mesh - White

Intel i7-8086K / Z390 Rig (Decommissioned Q2' 2025)

Intel i7-6800K / X99 Rig (Officially Decommissioned, Dead CPU returned to Intel)
Intel i5-4690K / Z97 Rig (Decommissioned)

AMD FX-8350 / 990FX Rig (Decommissioned)

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T / 890FX Rig (Decommissioned)

Don't buy stupidly large wattage PSUs...

LOL I though I need it for two titan x pascal and HTC vive.

when I play shadow of the tomb raider sli at max settings it will only consume 600w, 1500watt psu is way overkill.

No one shows us how much pc games consumes watts they only care about fps …. so I bought the …. best thing available.

It's a bit worse with 110v AC mains voltage.  From : https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/AX1500i/6.html

86% is a good efficiency for 120w (less than 10% of its maximum output)

so my psu is broken or faulty.

Yeah, you needed a 750W supply, not a 1500W supply...

Anandtech does a very good job at showing system power draw in their reviews, so you mustn't looked very hard...

No, you are just using fuck all power (look at the graph), and PSUs just CANNOT be really efficient at really low wattage. A lower wattage PSU would be wayyy more efficient.

shouldn't it be more than 86% or is it normal?

Most PSUs aren't that efficient < 7% load.  Hell... most aren't even 70% efficient at 7% load.

Use the logging feature and see what your efficiency is during a game.
