what do you want to upgrade? That thing is ancient.

Well at least I wanna put an ssd in it and up the battery life but it has a lot of expansion ports and I know a few ways to push it further the dream is to get the sticking station for it as well but it's like 300 dollars unfortunately

Look at surplus stores, I have seen those docking stations for %5

You can get ide ssds. https://www.amazon.com/Zheino-128gb-128GB-44pins-Laptop/dp/B00R2F9AYI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1540950889&sr=8-5&keywords=ide+ssd

Not great, but much better than any hdd

Battery will be a pain, best hope is to take apart the pack and put new cells in, I don't think anyone is making a new battery, and one from that age will be degraded.

That thing has to be from between 1999 and 2001, even a desktop of that time is essentially un-upgradable.

Yah I just wanna do it for fun and I found a few workarounds I already had it running emulators and stuff without upgrades the biggest problem is the hdd slowed down so much over the years and the batteries can't really retain a charge

Yah I was thinking an ide or an adapter to use a sata one although IDK if that would even provide an improvement

Iirc the drive bays can be used for battery packs Dell made there are also two so potentially raid ssds my personal preference is more battery life especially since I hate using the adapter lol it also has two pc card slots and a pci mini slot I thought of adding a gpu but the best pci mini gpu I found was actually worse than the on board graphics
