Hi, so recently, I've gotten into the idea of running a custom fan curve for my GPU so I have less heat being generated by my graphics card and also whilst I'm folding.

This is currently what my fan curve looks like:

These are the statistics I'm getting from MSI Afterburner, this is full load on my GPU, which is folding at max fold power.

Now, I have my RPM quite high at moderately-high temperatures. What is the safe RPM area that I should be aiming for? I enjoy these mid-60's temperatures and it even gets to low-60's usually but today's quite a hot day and so it's picked up by a few degrees tonight.

Without a custom fan curve, my GPU tends to max out at 1900RPM and my GPU thus reaches temperatures of around 70°C.

The fan on my GTX 970 runs at 2800 RPM when I'm running F@H.

Honestly, people mined with GPUs at max RPM for months, so running F@H at less than 2000 RPM should be fine.

100% speed is safe , it's not a car engine , it's made to run at 100% speed much like a lightbulb can run at 100% brightness

What about from an electricity standpoint? Will I incur any additional utility bill increases from a higher fan RPM? Say for example, my default 1900RPM versus my 2600RPM.

Before i went to my custom loop i tended to run a smooth curve up to a set noise level and temperature balance. So say for example 60% fan was as loud as i liked it, and under normal conditions at load that would result in 70c, that would be fine.

Then i would flat out the curve from that point (70c to 85c no fan speed change, stays at 60% max) untill the temp hit like 85c and it would then quickly ramp up to max fan speed (85c = 75% fan speed 87c = 100% fan speed).

Dont worry about power usuage for fans, they use very little even at max speed, and are design to run at those speeds without any issue.

no , a regular lightbulb even an led one left on will effect your bill more than the gpu's fan speed inside your machine
