Thats exactly what it means. Some odd times companies might tell you to make it unusable and send proof of it, like pic of cut cable on mouse or headset. But most of the times you send whole package back. They pay for shipping to one direction always, and ship you new or fixed one if issue was correct. Otherwise they send same unit back and you need to pay for shipping.
