Is BIOS compatible with GTX 1060?

My BIOS version is R01-A1, 6/22/2016. If I install a GTX 1060 into my PC will it work?

I don't see how BIOS versions should effect the installation of a new graphics card. Just be sure you have an available PCIe x8 or x16 slot to install the card into.

Does it really not matter? I remember someone talking about how they couldnt install something like a 970 because of the BIOS

Probably for a OEM Proprietary Motherboard.  That happens.

Plug and play for a GTX 1060 from what I can see on the motherboard.

 

However that comes with a 300w PSU.  I do not think that PSU can handle your CPU, ODD, HDD and a GTX 1060.

 

My platinum rated 320w Lite On PSU at 100% load can handle a similar setup you are looking to do but that's 20w less power and Im not sure what PSU you have.

 

Id have to suggest a PSU replacement before adding a GTX 1060 based off my own research, usage, and knowledge I have with the information in front of me.

 

And I DONT suggest PSU changes often, but I truly think you wont be able to power it.  HOWEVER - if you bought a GTX 1060 and put it in there, connected the PCIEx power cable to it and you turned it on..the worst thing that will happen is your computer will display an error on the monitor that says not enough power.  Then you can buy a PSU replacement.

 

EDIT - GTX 1050ti is the next best thing you could power with that PC without changing the PSU imho.  And one that is only powered off of the slot itself, no extra connectors required.
