Looking for an ATX case for a mining rig that is still going to be in use and in clear view (milk crate is not an option).

Ideally, budget is less than $50 because I don't really want to squander cash on a mining PC with ancient internals, so the lower the better.

I would want something that doesn't look awful, has ok cable management, decent air flow, and won't make me look like a cutter after I finish putting it together.

As an example, I was looking at maybe something like:

of course neither scream quality but it should get the job done.

Suggestions? I have max 19 inches of vertical clearance.

VERY good case for the price. I have the slightly more costly version with the window and it's wonderful.

Even better without a window, it'll probably look less cheesy and I'd need less effort.

just build it on a cardboard box? airflow can come from a normal house fan ;)

I don't think the user would like that.

well it doesn't look all bad if you cable manage it properly and since it's a budget build, i'm sure the money would be better spent on some other parts. When they save up a little money they can get a case if they want.

No, no, you're misunderstanding. The parts are already here, it just needs a shell that doesn't look like crud because it's going to be sitting in the living room. The current case doesn't have enough air flow and has seen better days.

I quite like the window... *harumph!*  <_<

But yeah, the version without the window would probably be better for a machine that's just going to be tucked away in a corner somewhere. Plus, the one without comes with the extra side-panel fan mount which would be better for mining anyway.

So that's why I linked the one without the window. ;)

It really is a great case though. You would expect it to feel really flimsy and lightweight like some other case, but it doesn't. It's quite sturdy and has a lot of nice little features. My only complaint with it was that the cable management holes above the motherboard aren't large enough to slip the EPS connector through, so I had to run that behind the motherboard. But it's not that big of a deal. Plenty of space to manage other cables nicely though.
