Move Windows Software Raid 0

tp95112

Going to be swapping to ryzen soon and I want to have a fresh install of windows 10. Problem is I have a 2 SSD raid 0 set up for games that I don't want to have to redownload. When I reinstall windows, how would I set up this array again? Or should I just back it up to another hard drive and redo the raid.

How did you setup the raid array? If its a sofware raid array, you should just be able to easily more it. If its motherboard raid, you probably need to remade the raid(id use software raid, motherboard raid sucks). If you ahve a hardware raid, just move the card.

Make sure you have backups, there is always a good change of something going wrong.

Don't use disk management raid, storage spaces is much better.

But yes, it will jsut move over to a new system.

What do you mean by storage space is much better?

more flexable, easier to restore, more feautres, and just better at keeping your data after a rebuild or other issues. I wouldn't replace it now, but if you remake the array, use storage spaces.
