The reason I bring this up is that going the prebuilt route with a 1060 seems like a bit of a gamble.  Maybe it will work out perfect for you but on the flip side of that what if you get it and it still isn't performing up to your expectations?  Then this was all for nothing and money spent/lost not getting any further ahead.  If it were my money and my system I'd want to take that gamble out of the equation and get a system that I know will perform well for the games/resolution that I want to play at, keeping in mind any future upgrades that I may want such as a better monitors etc.

What prebuilts are you looking at and what CPU do they have?

What is your overall budget if you were to sell the 1050 Ti and your current system without the 1060.

ok so i use pc specialist

i can get a 1060 with 8gb dual so 4x2 with i5 uhhh 7400

for like £500+ max £580 i think it was depends what case i choose and stuff

but if replacing my cpu NOT motherboard  i mean just buying a i7 4790 if thats fixes my games i will buy that i dont care dpends if buying a cpu while keeping my current board is bettter than buying a new pc

Both the i5 4690 and i5 7400 are 4 core 4 thread.  The base and turbo on the 7400 are also lower, this would not be a worthwhile upgrade or fix your problem.

The  i7 4790 is a 4 core 8 thread and would be a better and cheaper option in this scenario if your current board supports it.

When you say a PC specialist, this is a shop or someone that does custom builds?   I wouldn't be paying that kind of money for a 4 core i5 system when you could get a 6 core 12 thread Ryzen 1600/2600 with a B450 and DDR4.

Ryzen 2600 - Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 - Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB - Corsair Force MP500 NVMe PCIe M.2 240GB - 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB -

AsRock B450 PRO4 - Deepcool Earlkase Case -  Seasonic Foucus+ 650

FYI for future uses - Every Motherboard has a CPU support page, you just have to find it.
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H81M-S2H-rev-10#support-cpu

They usually show WHICH BIOS you have to have installed on the Bios/UEFI for the CPU to be seen properly.

So your good here, all CPU's in 4th Gen work on the same Bios/UEFI version (F2)

Make sure your on F2 bios by looking at CPU-Z's Tab Info.

Looks like no need to flash the bios,.. just drop in the i7 4790.

FYI - I was in your situation.

Games using past 90-100%, droppin GPU usage on my GTX970, and I wanted to upgrade my GPU as well...

So I got the 4790K from my locked i5 4690, and even at stock, it was worlds better!, games stayed around 50-70% (those intensive games i mean) and GPU usage never went below 95%, usually 98-100% again,...

Being Thread limited is not a Joke on 4Cores,.. and weirdly enough it's still quite GREAT using 4cores8threads.

The ONLY game that hits my 8 threads to 85-90% was AC-Origins and my GPU usage (GTX1070) was still in the 90-95% when my CPU hit 90%.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

If your machine isn't full of junk software/un-updated software/crap that keeps your machine busy doing NOT much in reality,..

And is well taken care of like any enthusiast should (knowing its baseline performance, so you KNOW if anything goes wrong)

Then yeah... that's what I did.
It should mitigate your CPU load greatly,..and allow full GPU usage.

*I run most of my games with nothing else running,.(Only MSI Afterburner in my SystemTray). so I'm different to most.. (eG- Closing browsers down,..making sure all available resources are for the game)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

when gaming it hits 100% SOME!!!! in division they work great together gpu and cpu stay arounf 70% with gpu same so wtf?

but eveyr other games it goes to 100% where gpu is at highest 60% XD idk wtf to do really

maybe just throw £300 quid at a i7 for shit and if it dont work im foked XDDDDD

idk what u think? should i buy the i7? also does that mean i gotta buy thermal paste >;[ and do you know if the stock intel fan is ok to use ? thats what i use atm so uh it seems fine temps idle are around 40^ on this idk if thats bad or not XD

gaming max it reaches is like 80 <MAX MAX never goes over that ever so seems fine idk wtf

You should be looking for used.  Purchasing a older gen CPU like that new is costly, as you can see.

Ryzen 2600 - Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 - Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB - Corsair Force MP500 NVMe PCIe M.2 240GB - 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB -

seems fine but still gets stutters... NOW what ive noticed is when it suddenly stutters the cpu jumps to 80% even 100% and gpu stays same

sooooo.... its the cpu isnt it ? also ram stays at 6500mb ? thats 6gb out of 8gb ram yes?

soooo it is the cpu >? damn ok

i have to buy off amazon.. beacuse i have a 400£ voucher lmfao so uh yeah i dont mind buyying it new as long as it works of course

EDIT so ive just capped 45fps and set the adpated setting to get 60fps
