Can you customise any hp slimline pc

Is it possible to customise any slimline hp pc?  change its mobo, cpu, ram, hdd or ssd and gpu and psu?

Really depends on the era and specific model. An old Athlon 64 one I had wouldn't even take a GT 710 in its pcie slot. And it supported a max of 2gb of ram

 

Some new ones are really locked down, others even take Matx boards
