Conveniently right when the warranty expired, my battery on my laptop said it was "plugged in, but not charging". I ignored it, because it still held a stable charge. Overnight something happened, and now the laptop is completely dead. The indicator of charging/sleeping, etc.,  isn't on nor will the laptop turn on.

The first part of the charger is a connector. One side goes into the socket, while the others go into a black brick. There's a light on that brick that is green, so I assume it's getting a connection. I can even hear the hum of electricity.

Why might my computer not being getting the charge? It holds in the AC Adapter just fine. It's the Inspiron 3452, according to Dell.

Battery is dead, try removing the battery and powering it off mains power only. There are several tricks to revive a dead battery, I have heard that freezing the battery for an hour or so can revive them. Before you try anything whats the model number of your laptop?
