Cat5e

I changed a few of my phone jacks (which are cat5e) to RJ45 but they don't work. All the phone lines in my house are all wired as one so there is one central point.

My Desktop:

HDD: Seagate Barracuda Compute (8 TB)

PSU: Corsair RMx 1000W w/ CableMod cables

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Case: Corsair SPEC-06 RGB

Monitors: LG 34GL750-B, Samsung CF591

Assuming you are converting it over to ethernet data, you will need to make sure both ends are wired correctly in the central communications box. Ideally if you can get a cheap tester it's not a bad way to make sure both are terminated properly.

Why do you need a ethernet data connection outside, what are you trying to setup?

 

As for that cable you can terminate and crimp it for an RJ45 jack or keystone.

No I crimped the Ethernet data to the phone line inside that's just the central communications box

Yes but what are you trying to do use the jacks as phone connections or for ethernet data for a network?

 

If you're trying to setup a new cable run for the network you need to determine which one is the two ends of the cables and have it route to a usable location.

Then what you have done on one end needs to be replicated on the other end of the cable, where ever that may be, for the cable to be used as a new network run.

No only the specific cable that you are running, you need to know where the two ends of the cable terminate at. If they are both crimped then you should check the crimped ends so they are wired correctly as mentioned. A cable tester would be good to invest in to make sure they are both crimped and wired correctly.
