Looking for a bargain monitor

hestolemydog

Not exactly swimming in cash right now due to the festive season closing in rapidly, but I'm looking for a decent all rounder monitor.

I do graphic design work, photoshop retouches, gaming and watch movies generally. I'm presently using a 32" Toshiba HD Television which has done okay but looks awful and hurts my eyes after extended use. Anything 27" or more would be desirable but I'm an absolute novice when it comes to anything to do with monitors.

Has anyone had any good recent bargains? Either singular or dual set ups would be fine also.

you can get a tv for this kind of cheepness if you don't care about input latency. but monitors are more for desk use.

It's not a matter of emergency, just looking for something nice. My office, desk and PC all looks snazzy but I'm using a boring old TV.

I'm looking for something to be competent all round and just look a bit better than a black box Toshiba.

Wow that is a pretty good deal, and not too bad looking. I just get really overwhelmed by the jargon they use, I mean, what even is IPS? There's LCD, LED, OLED, Plasma. It literally makes me want to live underground.

if its not an emergency, then use the upcoming month to do some research and then get the best monitor you can over the holiday.

my recommendation would fall to http://a.co/d/8zAf3rC as it covers 95% of the dci-p3 color space. its a bit pricier than a bargain, but it shouldn't be too expensive come sale season seeing as its an older model by today's standards. still very good for editing + 4k + size

Because it's IPS it has better viewing angles and better color representation which could be good for photoshop and such

Quick explenation and suggestions to help you choose the right tv/monitor.

One: get at least 1080, higher is better, but more expensive.

Ips has better colors, but lower refresh and higher input latency for the price than tn. Va is almost the same as ips. Oled is the best screen tech on the market, and is exept for burnin a perfect technology. But its also in the price. Led is mostly used in both and is great for the price. So my suggestion would be getting a 1080p color accurate display from a good brand like acer, asus, lg, samsung, aoc, iiyama or any other brand thats widely trusted. But also brands arent a way of choosing, specs make the difference
