Nvidia for main monitor and AMD for secondary monitor?

Beanlipe

Hello everyone!

I have a 144hz monitor that I run off my GTX1070 and my secondary monitor is an old AOC 5:4 monitor that only has VGA output that I currently connect to my onboard graphic card (Asus Z170M-PLUS).

Thing is: I have an old Radeon 5670 laying around and was thinking in using that just to connector my secondary monitor and free the RAM that is allocated to the onboard graphics.

Would I have problems running both NVIDIA and AMD cards? I'm not planning to do dual monitor gaming or anything, the second monitor usually have chrome, youtube and stuff on it.

Thanks :)

That should work fine.

Why not get an adapter and run the monitor off the nvidia card....

I do have a VGA to DVI adapter that I used to use on another system but it doesn't work on this one for some reason. Could try getting a different adapter.

Anything I should be careful with or it's matter of just plugging the card into the motherboard and installing the driver?

Was afraid of the and driver conflicting with the Nvidia, but I'll try it out then! Thanks :)
