What motherboards are you each using? Are you using default motherboard settings?

Can you please help lock the thread, Warecatf helped me with o solve the problem I was facing thank you again.

I7 8700(locked)

OK, I've checked these :

Thermal paste

Motherboard

Gpu(sapphire nitro + vega 64)

Bios

Virus /melware/keylogger

Add on softwares

Idle and loads

I even took out his cpu to run on my own board,it ran fine at full load at 71 degrees.

But once I put it back into his system at full load it goes to 104 degrees. Cpu cooler coolermaster

Master air ma410p

Did I miss out on anything?!?

Or is there some kind of cpu problem I'm unknown of?

He came in saying after about 30mins of work the system auto reboots and keeps rebooting after it gets to windows.

Asus maximus-X-hero-wifi/ac, (I had to open a new board to match his since I didn't have a same one)

Edit:I matched his Bios and overclock setting

What did you do to narrow it down to the CPU? Because you may be dealing with data corruption, overheating, or some other degraded component.

I tested His ram, storage and psu with my board and cpu, and his board worked fine with my cpu.

All his software checked out fine I even cloned his storage for my board to test. 4hrs and I'm still clueless

I'm sorry to be a bother but this the first time I've had a problem I can't solve myself.

Check what voltages the CPU runs at when under load on both mobos; if one mobo runs it at higher voltages, that would explain why it's running hotter. Also check that both mobos have similar BIOS-settings altogether, like e.g. multicore-enhancement on or off on both mobos, not just one, and so on.

Sorry, I have been up way to long to be able to do this kind of thinking right now without missing something obvious. I apologize again.

All checked out and fixed, thank you for the assistance. It seems when his cpu uses all cores for his calculations work the cores draws additional voltage to per core so I have turned down the multi core enhanced now it stays below 80. Thank you everyone.

Yeah, MCE is effectively an Auto OC that's left on by default on Asus' recent motherboards.

There's no need to lock the thread. If your problem is solved, select the appropriate answer and mark it as solved.
