Lag in VNC Viewer

I can use VNC Viewer just fine; I'm actually writing this entire post on my phone while connected to my desktop. The problem is, while there is basically no delay, if I, say, shake a window on my phone, it's super laggy and stuttery; the whole thing feels like 10FPS. How can I fix this? Thanks!

You can't, honestly. Graphics and animations require way more data than a static image. Keep in mind the screen you're viewing has to be refreshed 60 times a second, while also moving around. Without some kind of offloading or very high bandwidth low latency connection, this is barely doable.

Kinda what I figured. Is there a way to lower the graphics?

VNC isn't really optimized like for example RDP or CTX or Teamviewer... which use better codecs to compress the images send, as well as some of them only transmit changes from the screen and not the whole screen as refresh.

I wouldn't have used it, but, AFAIK, only VNC is compatible with Android, which is what I'm trying to achieve.

What are you connecting to? your windows desktop? 

 

I rdp to the one I'm writing on right now... 

 

But it would need to be a Pro edition... home doesn't want that.

 

As for teamviewer, there are android apps too. 

 

just don't nat the 3389 from your machine to the internet... use a highport like 61004 (random pick) and nat that to your machines 3389 port =).

 

And there is an Android RDP Client from MS. 

 

So only VNC is compatible with android... big fat FRONK! (wrong) MEEEEEP

Windows desktop to an Android phone. I'm downloading Teamviewer right now on both, I'll see how that works.

As for teamviewer, you can install the teamviewer service on your computer, and set a password. You will get a unique ID for your Windows machine to connect to.

Crap, my school blocks TeamViewer...oh well, I'll figure something out.
