GTX 980 or 1060

I'm looking for a gpu for my new computer and i found a deal for a 980 for 230$ on evga bstock that is partially damaged or a 1060 from amazon or craigslist or a 1060 asus strix for 300$

or i could buy a 1060 from america for about 200$ but was used for mining but never overclocked

this is all in cad btw

1060, newer is better and idk where you live, but you can probably get a 1060 6gb for a little bit less (maybe $30-$50) if you don't get a strix one.

Ah that makes more sense.  If its a 1060 6gb, get it, otherwise get a new 1060 6gb for ~$300 cad

the 980 is cheaper but it takes more energy but psus are really cheap

The energy intake between the two is not that large, a psu that is capable of running the 1060 will surely run a 980

I'd get the newer 1060 6GB, it'll be similar if not better at in-game performance than a 980. I know that a 1070 and a 980Ti were nearly identical at gaming.

but still its 70$ cheaper and i could also get a 980ti for that much

Then get a 980Ti, just be aware that it is a power hog and runs quite hot. I owned the Asus GTX 980Ti Strix OC so I speak from experience.

still psus are really cheap on evga bstock its like 60$ for a 650W gold

Exactly, so get a 980Ti and a 650W PSU that is reputable and you'll be fine.
