Our neighbourhood pc shop held a lucky draw for those who purchased ryzen cpus (buy any cpu above R5 2600 or higher you get 1 draw chance) the grand prize was a AsRock X470 Master SLI/AC.

Being the only system builder in the neighborhood I bought the most cpus (27-2600s,4-2700s, and 2-2700X) I got the board and I was wondering if I should change out my MSI B450M Mortar titanium or should I sell the board.

Is there any advantage to the X470 chipset to My B450? Other than that of its usb and sata slots

id use the board you won, its a much better board overall. you could sell it but id feel bad selling stuff i won myself. the X470 board has much better powercomponents and overclocking stuff so if you overclock its a nice upgrade

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

... You bought 27x Ryzen 2600s and you don't know the difference between the X470 and B450 chipsets? :D

There's not a huge difference between the two. On X470 chipset you get extra USB 3.0 ports and Multi-GPU support. It depends on the individual board, but you will also typically get better VRMs on the X470 boards than on the B450 boards - But again, this is entirely dependant on the individual motherboard.

AMDs website also has information on the different chipsets for AM4. https://www.amd.com/en/products/chipsets-am4

The AsRock would probably be the better board to use, especially if you are doing some moderate-heavy CPU overclocking... However, you'd probably be able sell the Asrock board for a much higher price. Not only because it's an X470 board, but it's also presumably still sealed in its original packaging, so you should be able to get fairly close to retail for it.

The 2700s and 2700xs was by request as for the 2600s I got about 17 left its called stock my dear friend how you feel if you go to a builder and asked "excuse me do you have a R5 2600 ryzen cpu for sale" and tell your client "I don't have stock at the moment, if you don't mind how about you leave your contact and I'll call you when I get some"......... He'd go to the other mall and you'd lose a customer. I know I only earn less then most pc shops but I'm still new at the bisnuess and what's more important to me is I earn the trust of the gamers in my area first as I myself am a gamer, I would prefer someone I trust to work on my system rather then some minimum wage fucker who would screw me over for a extra $50 on a damn replacement part which I don't need on the damn board
