Control which programs get in the VRAM

WAUZZZI

Hey guys,

so this really annoys me:

Windows and programs are using about 200MBs from my VRAM which means I only have 800MBs left for textures in games and that sucks because I can't play any game on high texture details at FullHD because the VRAM will get full and then it starts to lag. Now I'd like to know if I can somehow control which programs can cache their stuff into my VRAM or if I can tell it to automatically cache into my normal system memory or even better, the page-file. Application-Stuff doesn't need to be loaded as quick as textures in games and since I have an SSD it shouldn't slow anything down if programs load their images and stuff from the SSD Page file instead of the VRAM.

I hope a program that let's me do this stuff exists because I want to enjoy high textures and not medium.

Well if you have a 1GB card, that's really not a lot even for high-res textures. Windows needs your memory to display what is on your screen lol.

Instead of getting an SSD you should have gotten a GPU upgrade

I temporarily had an AMD Card (5570) while I was waiting for my current GPU (my old 460 broke and I needed a fast replacement so I bought a used 560TI DCU2) I noticed that that thing had only 20MBs used while on the desktop, why is that?

I have Windows 8.1 so no Aero there.

Even with no programs opened I still have 176MBs used, which is weird, even if I choose a solid color black background it won't go below 140MBs:
