3.0 usb port malfunction

So, i am a photographer and recently bought a D810 which comes with a 3.0 usb for faster photo importing. However, as soon as it gets to 2% it stopps and i get an error asking me to restart file explorer. Please note that ive used the 3.0 port before and its the only one i have on my motherboard. The D810 has around 36 MP, do you realize how much time i have to wait for it to import on a random 2.0 usb port?

Have you tried all USB 3.0 ports? Some just suck and dont work properly,

You could get a USB 3.0 PCI-e card if you have a spare slot on the motherboard.... that is if you've already tried updating drivers?

drivers are up to date. I'll do that, thanks!

Umm, just noticed the motherboard you have... it's the same as mine except yours is the larger ATX form factor. There are 5 rear ports and 2 front USB 3.1 ports.... they are backwards compatible, so any of them can be used as 3.0 ports. So try a different port first....  I assumed you were using an older motherboard, vecause you said there was only one USB 3.0 port... so that was partly my fault for not checking with you. I think it's more likely a software/driver fault in that case. Do you have to use a certain driver with the camera, have you read the manual?
