Are you able to cut down a power supply cable like sata power down from a chain of 4 to 1??

Yeah, Just make sure you isolate all the ends you cut off. If they short with the case or something it could get kinda dangerous.

Electrical tape (dunno if I translated that right) should do the trick better. Depending on what duct tape you use it might be conductive.

i switched it to electrical tape switching it now infact
