I’m new to this stuff.

So intel 9th gen roumered for today,

what happens? Do intel make a announcement? Is there a certain time (and which time zone) they do it in which if they don’t do it before a time the rumour was incorrect?

Maybe the cpu’s have been released but no articles written about them?

What happens?

Nobody, especially a company as big as intel releases their major product without an announcement or product launch. Dont believe anything you see from wccftech.

Lol no, nobody is going to miss out an oppurtunity to write about new cpus from intel.

you gonna have to wait.

Hardware unboxed already has the cpu for testing and isn't under NDA they said they know when the NDA lifts and it's sometime this month so it is not really a rumor at this point.

Can you explain in in simpler terms (and more descriptive) please? Such as which rumour are you talking about.

Hardware rollouts like processors don't just come by night, Suppliers, OEM Vendors, and wholesalers typically know weeks if not months ahead of time. lf you are not hearing the media talk about them, it hasn't moved into this phase yet and typically that means it will be abit before they come out.

A YouTube channel has the 9th gen cpus and are testing them right now. They talked about it in one of their videos and they had the chip on the table in front of them. They also said that the reason why they can talk about it is because they are not under a nondisclosure agreement which would legally prohibit them from doing so like most reviewers are when they receive a sample for review. The reason why they aren't under NDA is because they didn't get the cpus from Intel but rather third party sources. Also they are in the tech YouTube industry and know other YouTube's that have received cpus from Intel and know when the NDA is lifted and they are allowed to release their review. So out of respect for their fellow YouTube's they are waiting to release their videos until the day the others allowed to that way they don't get an unfair advantage. Anyways the long story short is that the cpus are being tested for their party reviews and those reviews should come out sometime this month.

Testing and writing a review for a CPU take can a few days to an entire week to complete -- it is not something you can do in a few hours.

For that reason companies like AMD/Intel/nVidia will ship their product out for review AHEAD of time.

As an example, the RTX 2080 lanuch date was September 20, but YouTubers and professional reviewers already had RTX 2080 IN HAND week(s) before.

They just can't talk too much about it, or release their review article, until September 20th, because they signed a LEGALLY binding NDA.

If they spill the beans BEFORE September 20th, nVidia can/will bring them to court, and SUE.

Rumors are rumors.

They are not 110% correct.

I can spread a rumor that you went James Bond 007 into nVidia's test lab and stole a RTX 3080 -- but that isn't true...or is it?

If Intel UNVEILS or publicly ANNOUNCES that the 9th generation CPUs are scheduled to launch on a set dated, then 95%+ of the time, it is correct.

I say 95%+ because last-minute delays can happen, and things can get pushed back.
