I am not a gamer but I enjoy the LMG channels quite a bit. This is my first foray into the forums.  I bought a prebuilt system last year, an ASUS Vivo M32CD-B14 with 12 GB RAM (8GB udimm + 4 GB udimm) and a Core I7 (7th gen) 7700 CPU.  I am not sure if it is worth upgrading the RAM but I was curious about how much I could add and at what cost.  But I have gotten really inconsistent information about the maximum amount I can install.  Crucial's system scanner tells me my maximum is 32GB.  A CNET spec sheet for my system says the maximum is 16 GB.  ASUS's website is a joke.  There was no manual I could find (in English anyway, though Polish and Romanian were available).  I did a tech support chat that was an even bigger joke.  They don't have manuals or spec sheets I was told and the maximum RAM is 12 GB.  When I googled my CPU I found a site saying the maximum RAM was 64GB.

I bought my mom an HP machine last month.  I figure I can upgrade her RAM from 8 to 16 GB if I buy a 32 GB kit.  I use my Vivo mainly as a HTPC.  12 GB is plenty for streaming, playing videos, and thousands of games of Spider Solitaire.   I'm a very boring person, but I do enjoy fiddling with computers.  I've previously upgraded my 1 TB HD to an 8 TB model.   I figure I might as well go overboard on the RAM too.  RBG unnecessary though.  Can anyone help me find out just how overboard I can go?  Thanks in advance.
