So I want to get an ssd the problem is i don’t want a big one, I just want to put windows,fortnite,obs and few other things I use for content creating on it so I figured a 120gb one would do. I want to continue to use my hdd for mass storage the problem is I don’t know how to love windows and these programs only on the ssd without completely whipping everything else. I don’t want to lose pictures and videos I have so I don’t know what to do. Does anyone have s solution.

Software exists to clone drives for this purpose. What I would though, is back up all your valuable data and wipe your HDD. Then do a clean install on the SSD.

Where do I back it up to and I don’t want to clone the entire drive.

You get an external or spare drive, copy all the important data you want over to said drive, then clean install windows, programs and games onto SSD, then on the hard drive transfer your stuff back onto it. 

 

With what you are doing a backup, wipe and clean install is the best bet. Then you can manually transfer the data you want back from the backup you made.
