Hello,

I'm looking for a new build for 1080p 144hz around 1700$, without monitor/peripherals.

I have something in mind but i'm not sure which motherboard to get.

Intel Core i7-8700k

Noctua NH-U14S with NF-A12x25

Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000mhz  2x8

970 evo m.2 250GB

1080ti - Strix/FTW3/AORUS

Corsair RM650x/Seasonic x-650

Corsair Air 540 with x3 NF-A12x25 front as intake, and moving the x2 140m to the top as exhaust.

Any changes and suggestions will be appreciated.

Due to the recent price increases to the 8700k due to price increases. you can do it a lot cheaper and get a 144hz 1440p freesync display.

Something id personally do and later on add a better CPU.

Change case and other to suit yourself

For CPU-intensive tasks, this is perfect. It should perform pretty well in most games.

A 1080 Ti most likely isn't needed and a 1080 is still strong. It will have a bottleneck in games, though.

Go for GoldenLag's build if you do really need a 1080 Ti, otherwise this build is better in CPU-intensive tasks.

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16GB RAM / Optane SSD / GTX 1650 / Solus Linux
