I have an ssd in mine and 8gb of ram so yeah. If it still had a hdd, I think I would've died before certain load times. EDIT: currently typing on one rn too. I also love the keyboard on this one more than any other macbook.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

Only get it if you intend to throw some RAM and an SSD into it. Upgrades are easy so don't worry about that. One thing I would keep in mind is the battery. Do you need long battery life? A used laptop obviously won't get you good battery life.

If battery life is important to you, go with a Chromebook. Or a windows laptop that has decent battery life. Personally I'm in love with my Macbook Air. Five years in and it's still going strong. But that's a hard recommendation to make in 2018 because the current Macbook Air is very outdated (but still manages to not be in dongle hell which is something I like).

Is really depend on what are you using it for.

Streaming TV/youtube, word doc, etc should be fine.

Gaming, solving world hunger, detecting ET, etc probably not
