Installing windows into "no OS system"

Go to solution Solved by bouller,

I installed windows 7 successfully.Now i am going to check company's software.

Here's a video that helped me a lot.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Hello guys,

Today, i bought a new one "ready-pc" with these specifications in order to run

specific programs for my work.

cpu-Intel Core i3-7100

ram-4 GB DDR4

mobo-GA-H110M-DS2

hdd-Toshiba P300 1tb

The brand new PC has no OS so, i have to install it on my own.

BUT when i am trying to install windows 7 using usb or DVD i am facing those errors like in the pictures below.

I tried to browse drivers in order to install usb's and disk's controllers through motherboard's DVD but nothing happened.

I also tried to connect the new HDD on my main rig to see if it will work properly and it worked just fine.

I am pretty confused and i need your help.

Thanks in advance,

bouller.

I'm might be wrong. I think Intel stopped Windows 7 "to be used" by 7th gen CPUs.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | CPU Cooler: Stock AMD Cooler | Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI) | RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (4x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL16 | GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB Zotac Mini | Case: K280 Case | PSU: Cooler Master B600 Power supply | SSD: 1TB  | HDDs: 1x 250GB & 1x 1TB WD Blue | Monitor: 24" Acer S240HLBID | OS: Win 11 Pro.

If that's true i have serious problems with my programs...

Thanks for your fast reply !

Why not run windows 10? If a program needs windows 7 you can always fire up a vm.

If you really want 7, you gonna need to use ps2 keyboard, or to inject the driver into the iso. A dvd drive also is needed or drivers injected into the image. Try using usb 2 ports aswell.

100 series chipset does support Win7. It was MS not Intel that blocked 7th gen from Win7 updates.

If you have the Win7 license already, you can keep trying. Look in the bios options for any "Win7 install mode" or similar, as that was common then. It changes compatibility to aid the process. You might also check the website for the mobo if there are any Win7 install related downloads, as manufacturers at the time also had tools to help USB3 support for example.

Win10 should just work out of the box, and you might find it will activate with the Win7 key anyway. I've done that by accident in recent times, long after the "free" upgrade period.

I'd be a little concerned about having 4GB of ram though. You might want 8GB for a more comfortable experience. And a SSD... and so it goes on...

I just had a quick look though the Win7-64 section, and didn't see anything interesting in there. As said, I had seen some manufacturers provide tools to help, but it doesn't seem to be the case here.

It doesn't really "fix" the Win7 problem here, but are you up for trying Win10? You can use the media creator from MS site to make an install USB. Install the version matching your Win7 licence (e.g. home, pro), but don't add the key on install. Try it a bit, see if you like it. If so, then try entering the Win7 key and see if it takes it. I've had good luck with this before.
