From what I've seen they perform like 7950s but with less VRAM so at below 1080p they will be monsters.

Just realised you already have 1x 7770, so yes adding another would be a nice upgrade.

Honestly, I think he's still better off selling his 7770 and buying, say, a 7870 or R9 270. Crossfire is good if you already have the card, yes, but when talking 7770s, it's better to buy a stronger card. If he had a 7850 or 7870, then I would say "Yes, run a crossfire setup."

 

OP, don't buy another GPU for the extra memory. But if you can sell your current card and have enough money to buy yourself a better one that you can run in crossfire with a second card later, then go for that.

280X when the price goes down (used to be $300 USD but skyrocketed due to coin mining).

How much is a 7770? Over here it's $150 so it's double the price.

7770's go for $100, about 80 if you get it on special and 7790's go for about $150

he is fine I am still using a 6950 andmost games run at around 40 to 60 fps (their performance is fairly close) furthermore, you really don't need a high end gpu unless you play the latest games or above 1920

 

to the op: I personally think that if you want to cross fire the cards that will be fine but may be you should save up for a more powerful card ? like a r9 270 or a  nivida 760 ?
