Hello, so I know this is probably a stupid question but, for laptops that have GPUs, how do they make them small enough to fit inside a small laptop? I mean, pretty much every desktop GPU I have seen is large, and could almost never fit inside a laptop. Again, I know this is probably a REALLY stupid question, but I have almost no experience with GPUs, as I can never afford one (at the moment).

They are underclocked and undervolted,

and look like that. It's like a Mobile version of the CPU. The majority of the size of a GPU is the heatsink/Cooler, which they integrate into the case, not the GPU for laptops, and Power phases/ other useless stuff. Because it uses less power, they can reduce the amount of power phases and power connectors.

As a lot of laptop GPU's are of a much lower TDP than their desktop counterparts, they tend to be able to do away or at least shrink things like the VRM's that can be bulky.

Sorry but you're wrong. They are exactly the same, just with lower TDP which means you will hit power limit throttling easier. Max-Q GPUs are indeed underclocked (and automatically, undervolted at the same time); however, they can boost to match the clock speed of their counterpart, regular mobile GPUs if the cooling is good

Shrink VRAM+VRM+core+everything into very small size. Also much thinner heatpipes
