PCI-E usb 3 extender on Z370

Go to solution Solved by emosun,

it can go in any slot even the 1x slot will outrun usb 3

Hey,
I have Z370-a asus and 8700k on it.
Now i am using NVME + 3 HARD DRIVES
1 x 1080 ti connected to the first 16X pci-e on the mother board and i need to extend the number of USB ports so i bought the 5 ports USB 3.0 adapter of inotec.
Can you tell me where can i connect it and is it be a huge drop on gaming performance?

at the picture (Proffesional art :)) you can see the A,B,C pci-e and at the "A" my gpu is connected right now

Thank you for any help.

just put it in any unused pci-e x1 slot.

usb3 don't need pci-e x8.

you can also put your gpu in any of the x8 slot.

it won't effect the performance.

read about x8 vs x16

well the rule of thumb is anything that can be plugged, should work in their respective slots.

make sure the pc is turned off before making any changes.
