yes with that you would have 3-5 minutes to save your files and shutdown windows.

remember you need to replace the battery once a year, even if no incident happening.

if you don't have frequent shortages, better not using them, since it will cost additional power bills.

thats probably a bit overkill, but after 4 years and a few whacks deaths are expected.

on topic: i have a higher power APC Back-UPS (or rather, a few of them..) to keep my stuff online, and they've proven just fine for me.

all of my units contain a standard sized battery, all UPS manufacturers will tell you to only buy their batteries, but there's plenty of battery manufacturers that make batteries specificly for UPS.

replacing battery is not rocket science, just match the type, voltage and the size and it should work.

it's pretty standardized throughout brands.

just like a normal AA battery, just batteries.

to be safe go to nearest official shop and have them replace it for you.

but to save a lot of money, just open the box with screwdriver, unplug connectors (plus and minus), replace the battery, put back the casing.

after market non branded battery is 50% cheaper than the official one.

batteries can last long in controlled environment, keep it cool and it will last longer.

I've had good luck and battery life with both APC and CyberPower.  Be careful when replacing batteries though...some third party battery manufacturers are straight up sketch.

some first party batteries look pretty sketch too :P

but i guess its a general rule of thumb: only buy batteries from brands you trust not to catch fire.

That general rule of thumb holds true for many things besides batteries :)

You forgot avoiding deep discharges.

If lead acid battery is constantly discharged to low charge that can destroy it fast.

Catching fire like pyrotechnics is job of lithium based batteries, lead acid batteries don't do that.

Though in case of non-sealed lead batteries there is potential risk of explosion.

Charging/discharging current causing some electrolysis of water creates "slightly" flammable mixture.

That should be good for 5 mins of light desktop use.

Though wouldn't fully trust any specifications of it.

It seems to use similar BS power rating as cheap eBay whatever PSUs and about 250W being likely actual maximum output power.

Runtime dropping that insanely sharply nearing rated max output tells there's something extremely undersized in it.

https://www.apc.com/products/runtime_chart.cfm?sku=BX650LI-MS

Honestly specced UPS has smooth runtime curve instead of sharp drop in end.

Battery looks like normal 7.something Ah 12V battery.

Hey, after i buy UPS should i keep it plug and used the off/on button when i'm gonna use it? Or unplug it when i'm not using it?

I would leave both it both plugged in and on at all times (actually, I do just that). That will ensure the batteries are always fully charged.
