GTX 980ti

Go to solution Solved by xAcid9,

Is it only visual or you can't even play games? If the former can you try to use different port?

I have similar problem before which turns out to be a problematic HDMI port/HDMI cable combo. No such problem when i use the DVI port or when i change my HDMI cable.

Hi dear,

I'm faceing a problem of my GPU GTX 980ti.

When I'm installing GPU my pci slot and connect monitor it showing brocken display.

But my another GPU GTX 730 is ok but only problem GTX 980ti.

Can I fix this problem?IMG_20180915_232639.thumb.jpg.6a40bd160adaad59b1f16029775c3679.jpg

Likely its going to be an RMA, something about the card physical is broken.

sort of. Artifacts like this are a sign of the solder of VRAM coming loose, which you can fix by baking it in an oven (that you wont be using to deal with anything edible). I dont recommend new members of the PC community try this

that usually means your GPU is dying.

Correction: ALMOST ALWAYS.

Since I'm assuming you bought this card over 2.5 years ago, you have a few options.

A) Stick with your GT 730.

B) Get a new, budget GPU to tide you over until you get a better one.

C) Get a used, high end GPU.

you can try to completely wipe off the drivers in windows safe mode with DDU and re-install fresh drivers. then install MSI afterburner and try to tweak with the card...try lower GPU memory clocks, lower core clocks and see if you can get a clean picture then...otherwise, if it doesnt, something is wrong with the card.

Yeah, that GPU is definitely kaput.

If you can't get it repaired...

Which company produced your GPU, was it Nvidia or a board partner? Also when was the card purchased?

I would ASSUME Gigabyte, but you can never be too sure, can you?

Well if that is the case, if he bought it in the last 3 years then it is still under warranty.

I hope so, the 980 TI is still a very capable graphics card that probably suits this guy's needs well.

Luckily 3 years is the standard length of warranties for Nvidia cards, Nvidia and almost every partner have a warranty of this length.

Even better. I'm hoping this guy gets lucky, and gets a full repair, or maybe even a replacement. We'll have to see.
