Hi, I am planning on putting together a sim racing rig to supplement my existing setup. I currently mount my wheel to my desk and use the 3 monitors I use for all other games.

I am looking to get 3 more monitors for the sim rig, I want to use my existing gaming pc for both setups. I'm not really interested in VR currently but I see that it would make this simpler.

Is there a way I can connect all monitors to my pc without constantly removing cables?

Thanks.

Specs:

Cpu: Intel 4790k

Mobo: maximus vi ranger

GPU: Asus gtx 1080

You might possibly try a HDMI/ display port switch. More specifically a 1in 6out switch like the one from monoprice.

The Monoprice Blackbird 4K 1x8 HDMI Splitter.

There are solutions to use your smart phone and a cheap headset for PC vr gaming. This can help keep things cheap and you don't have to make a commitment to an expensive vr setup.

I'm confused. You want to build a "slim racing rig" with three monitors. At the same time you want to use your existing pc for "both setups"?

Do you want one pc with six monitors or two pc each with three monitors or two pc that share three monitors?

The price isn't my issue, VR isn't fully supported by all titles yet although it is being adopted quickly, it's more to do with the fact I couldn't get used to it when using it, I trained my friends headset and I have use them at various events.

The HDMI switch looks like a good solution, I'll look in to it. I was thinking a switch would do the job but wasn't sure.

1 pc with 6 monitors, I am currently using the DVI, display port and 1 HDMI port on my gpu, don't have enough slots for 6, just looking for a slick solution for ease of use.

GPU supports four concurrent displays.

Displayport 1.2 and later supports daisy chained displays, https://www.displayport.org/cables/driving-multiple-displays-from-a-single-displayport-output/.

Really? I would need to change what displays I plan on getting as only one of my current monitors support display port but that looks like the best solution so far providing I can get some decent screen for a good price. Thanks.
