Setup: 8700k stock, 16 GB VIPER RAM + 16 GB HYPERX RAM, B360N Wifi MOBO, 500GB HDD+2TB HDD 7200RPMs (average/a little above average data rate)

Average use out of computer, video games, adobe programs, VPN software, etc. But my computer and programs run so much slower than what they're supposed to. BTW if I switch my RAM sticks in alternate slots, either it doesn't boot or it's slow to boot. I've been using Wise Memory Optimizer application to restore speed to everything evertime I start up my system.

Speed without Mem Optimizer from click:

-Opening adobe photoshop, about 14-23 seconds, creating 35000 x 35000 72DPI space: 9-18 seconds, filling in that space with colour: 26-37 seconds

-Opening firefox, about 9-18 seconds

-Opening Steam, about 13-21 seconds

etc.

Boot time from computer startup: starts with Mobo name, etc about 23-27 seconds before being able to enter login screen.

Pressing enter the log in screen to enter password: 3 seconds before password box appears.

It's not the RAM sticks themselves (them being different, etc) because when first putting my system together it ran perfectly find. Speeds were fine.

Task Manager Processes:

Only things different/weird are:

-I have Windows Store apps in my Task Manager Processes that open up at every startup and have -suspended next to the exe. Such as Calculator, Photos, Windows Store, and Cortana.

I have no idea why. All of them but Cortana stay closed when I quit task. And when I open file location for Windows Store that shoes suspended, it says I don't have permission. When I go to location of Photos, it opens up a hidden folder called WindowsApps. But when I go to that folder manually and try to open it, it says I don't have permission???

-Multiple Runtime Broker tasks (?)

-Multiples of Windows Processes

I don't know if you guys know much about Background Processes/Windows Processes but if you do if you could tell me what's up with them?

Task Processes in attachments.

Are you stupid? I JUST installed it on my Computer. Again, did you even read my OP?

Yeah, all of those slow times are normal for a system with no SSD.

Also, changing what slots the memory are in will slow the boot process for the next power up as the system needs to re-train some timings.  Also, most boards are designed for specific slots to be filled first, so its to be expected that you would have problems if the ram is not in the proper slots.

Im not even going to get into the problems that can be associated with putting fast memory into a B360 board.

You have NO idea what you're even talking about.

I suggest you stop posting here.

It's not my drives, it's my RAM, as it the speed is fixed with the RAM optimizer in my OP

Don't use a ram optimizer. Windows is already good at this. Just let windows do its thing. These optimizers can often force other programs to page out to make it seem like there is more free ram when really your just paging more making the system much slower.

Get a ssd, huge difference.

go down to 1 stick of ram.....i think you have a bad ram module. try them 1 at a time. the one that it wont boot on is bad.

Nope. I tested the RAM in the beginning when I first set up my PC. Everything ran fine. With every combination of RAM position, etc.

You are free to think that, but Im not the one who splashed out for a 8700k and put it in a B360 board.

Can you not read? Without the RAM optimizer my system IS SLOW.

It has nothing to do with my hard drives. FFS

Oh it does. Your hdds are why the system is slow. Trust, a ssd is a huge difference.

Your first argurment : "Yeah, all of those slow times are normal for a system with no SSD. ".

I've already stated in my OP that when I first set up my PC the speed and loading times were perfectly normal for programs and games.

You're an idiot.

You obviously don't listen very well, do you?

The HDDs aren't the reason. I just said that 3 different times.

run gpuz and post the ram tab

RAM %'s are normal.

The answer here is nothing. All those windows process are normal and just a part of the os. They don't use much ram anyways.

these times

Normal for a hdd. Get a ssd if you want it faster. This has nothing to do with ram and everything to do with storage. Buy a 500gb ssd for under 100 and you will notice the huge difference.

Holy shit Dude. I just said multiple times that when first setting up my PC my system ran much faster. With the HDD drives.

Now it's gone to shit.

Now I'm using a RAM optimizer that speeds things up back to normal speeds.

IT'S THE RAM

NOT THE DRIVES.

You're an idiot.

And as you add more crap to your HDD (especially stuff that loads up with windows) the loading times go into the toilet.  There is also the possibility that one of your drives is failing, which tends to wreck loading times before the drive craps out completely.

You can think what you want, but you are not displaying any depth of understanding about the operation of a computer system.

thats because your running more things in the background that mainly want io and some cpu and ram

Try a reinstall of the os if you want, but trust me its your hdd

Pretty sure I've repeated myself five times now saying when I first set up my PC with all the same hardware (HDDs included) that it was much faster than it is currently.

Pretty sure I know adding random bullshit to processes that run will slow everything down.

Pretty sure you're wasting my time.
