Problem installing Windows

Go to solution Solved by homeap5,

UEFI/Legacy problem maybe - badly created USB.

Hey,

I'm Starfall.

I have problems installing Windows. Linux works fine as I know of. The problem is, if I wanna install Windows of of my freshly made USB stick, I get to see that I shall install drivers because nor HDD neither SSD, both existing in my rig, get recognized... But if I open the terminal with Shift+F10, and go into diskpart, all my drives are shown and even if I browse to select a driver, my HDD is shown, my SSD not because I cleaned it in diskpart.

Sorry for any misspelling or grammatical falseness, I am German ;)

Thanks for every help in advance,

Starfall

Small advise - if you have working Windows, don't install the same Windows. Every day I see posts about problems when people wants to "improve" their systems by reinstalling/making fresh install. At the end you'll get the same Windows, not "more fresh", not any better, just the same with the same files etc. And after month you'll have installed the same software like before. It's vicious circle. Better is to made something interesting on your computer.

Yea maybe, but I had the habit of reinstalling it from time to time, but I messed up because I usually format because of the problems I had first installing it, I wanted to just diskpart clean it and make a completely new Installation, but now, even if I format it in diskpart to NTFS, it still doesn't see anything...

I have a driver CD for the Mainboard, but if I put it in, then start the installation, it says, boot drivers not loaded, something in that direction. But if I put the CD in at the driver screen, I can browse it with my other drives, and whatever I do, it won't install, I tried, raid/ahci driver and some kind of USB 3 driver hidden in the endless directories... I can't stick with Linux, due to my 2 main games that I play, being nor available neither "WINE'able" or played in a VM for my system...

It's very bad habit. It's something that makes users of Mac and Linux laugh.

But if it's your hobby, then ok - everyone does what they like on the computer.

Yea, i'd Love to fully switch to Linux, but gaming is something, that I don't like giving up... So, Linux will definitely install, I tested it, no problems recognizing all the drives, what a wonder...

But Windows still doesn't want to install. But it's weird that in any other program like File select, diskpart, CMD the drives show how they should...

It seems like the Iso had a problem, I flashed 2 USB's with 2 different Windows, one with Windows 10 1703 end the other one with my insider preview iso, I couldn't even boot the WoeUSB made insider preview USB... Thanks a lot ? Great Forum, I knew I can find my solution here.
