In my experience life tends to reflect your attitude. If you believe everything is always going to be awful then it will. If you're positive then that's what you'll get (barring misfortune of course)

My 2018 hasn't been so great, but I can only believe it will get better and keep moving on, because hell if I'm about to let my life go down the drain.

 

Pick yourself up and keep going on with life and it will get better, and once it does, you'll feel alive.
