Hi I am looking fr help regarding my first pc build regarding what psu I need here are the specs.

CPU: AMD phenom ii x4 980

RAM: Crucial 4gb 1866mhz DDR3

GPU: GTX 950

HDD: WD Blue 1tb 7.2k rpm

PSU: Deepcool DE500 (it has a continous of 350 and a peak of 500)

I plan on adding 6 rgb fans which are Tecware orbis . Can my current psu handle adding the 6 rgb fans or do I need to upgrade my psu.

(I know my cpu is a bit old but hey it gets the job done plus my friend just gave it to me together with a ddr3 motherboard)

unlikely, if you want to be sure buy something like a Kill-a-watt meter and see what your power draw from the wall actually is then assume about 20-30 watts for the fans and LED's (on the high side) and thats assuming you aren't removing one fan for another.

That PSU may "get the job done" but in a short time here it'll get the fireworks done for the 4th of July.

I'd recommend something less crap. You don't need much for a GTX 950, but an EVGA 500B or something along those lines would be alright for someone on a super tight budget like you.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Sure, that'll do fine for your use. Don't do huge upgrades on that thing though, as in, don't go from an ancient Phenom to a brand new 8600K and a GTX 950 to a GTX 1080 and keep running the same PSU. Get a better one if that occurs.

Yeah I am planning to upgrade my motherboard, processor and ram to a newer specs but for the gpu i think it'll do for the next 2 years. I'll remember your advice once I'll upgrade. Thank you for helping me out ?
