I am looking for a replacement of my R9 290, and it been bought once I put it online, which I didn't expect. Now I have to look for a replacement.

The problem is, there are so many good duels around the second handed market now, and I am facing extreme difficulty choosing between them.

Note that I only need 1440p 60fps, because it is all my monitor can do, and it got no free-sync or G-sync. I don't play many AAA titles, just BF1 and nier: automata (which is surprisingly hard to run).

Here are what I found on the internet: (price is in usd, converted from my local currency)

1070 at $260

980ti at $254

R9 fury at $200

RX580 at $128

980 at $128

Which will be good enough for my useage? Is a rx 580 fast enough? Which from the above looks like a better duel to you guys?

please help x.x

Is the 580 8gb or 4gb?

Drop getting the 580 or 980, it's not a significant upgrade if your purpose is for 1440p at 60fps. I'd get either the 980 Ti or 1070.

Yeah I would try for the 1070 for 1440p. With your current price listing you might as well go for the 1070 due to it being newer, and should be less used than the 980 TI, as they perform almost the same. http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-980-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1070/3439vs3609

Thx for the reply, sience 6gb and 8 gb didn't make a difference, which looks better to you?

Its wither rx580 or 1070 the rest you should kinda ignore

You might as well get the 1070, especially if you're into overclocking.

I thought a 980 ti will be faster than 1070 if they were overclocked. I have no idea what the overclocking headroom will be of a 1070.

Should be pretty good, if not at least as good while using less power than an OC'd 980 Ti.

What??

RX-580 is comparable to the GTX 1060.

@Type 2501

GTX 980Ti, and GTX 1070 are the one you want to choose from.

GTX 980, R9-Fury, and RX-580 would not be a significant *enough* upgrade from a R9-290.

That's what I heard, I was just not sure how good it is to my usage, running 1440p game.

With the more recent drivers the RX-580 8GB and GTX 1060 GB is basically head-to-head. One will be like 5~10 FPS (when you're already getting 100+) than the other with some games, while some are exactly the same.

GTX 1070 is more power efficient, and comes with an extra 2GB of VRAM. Plus there is only a $6 difference. GTX 1070 is much better suited for 1440p gaming than a RX-580 or GTX 1060 -- and with graphical settings turned up.

If the price difference was like $30 -$50+, then get the cheaper of the two.

I swapped out my aging Vapor-X 7950 (aka R9-280) for a EVGA GTX 1070 SC last week...was worth.
