Hello,

I want to get rid of my PC and build a new one on i7 8700k.

My rig:

ryzen 5 1600

asrock ab350 fatality gaming k4

16gb ddr 4 corsair(not too sure brand but from more expensive one)

gtx 1080ti asus strix oc

2 ssd x 120gb

1x 1tb hdd

some basic 700w psu (not in the Tier list so cant tell if its ok or not its from chieftec700w)

Im from Lithuania and all parts except probably 1 ssd and psu still got Warranty for at least half a year -1 year. GPU is almost new bought few months ago.

Can someone tell me what is average price I could try to sell it for ?

I would keep the ram, keep ONE of the ssds and the hdd and obviously the 1080Ti if I'm honest

if I keep everything I wont have enough for new rig. I would love to keep my 1080ti, but forced to sell it and get 1080 instead or even 1070 to build a new rig, wont save up my ssds as those got some issues just adding them to sell list for some extra like 5 eur each or smth ((same goes for hdd its ok but its 2 years old or so, got kinda slow and littlebit noisy)

yes 2700x would be cheaper than a new 8700k system, you can just swap the cpu, no need to buy new mb.

i would sell the 2 ssd for 1 256gb.

if you still have warranty on the ssd, it may sell a lot higher.

8700k*, yeah I though about it let me check the price difference then, now the build with 8700k without nay super special parts is like 1400eur or about that.

Yes, you might wanna consider this, why you wanna upgrade, r5 1600 is a great cpu.

And the motherboard itself is a good one.

You won't get a noticeable difference by going to 8700k. 10% max which is a great upgrade.

that problem can be solved, you can ask this forum for help.

start by explaining the problems, maybe we can help.

don't waste money or time on something that you're not sure of.

Already did in another channel where people ask for the help, we tried everything starting from drivers reinstall/older versions ending with bios reset (even windows reinstall) issue jsut got worse, some games wont even launch at all.

EDIT

By the love of god, just swap the motherboard and call it a day :P

Even considering downgrading from your 1080TI to switch to a 8700k is just obnoxious to read..

are u sure its mobo issue? how can I be sure its mobo? (dont ask me to go to a friend and teh my components there co no one of my friends using amd rig, amd AM3 one with 8*** series processor) and why upgrading to 8700k so abd? as far as I know its a decent processor (though I loved 1600 performance and more likely want to get 2700x)

The amd cooler is the best stock cooler ever made. No reason to buy another.

Assuming you are a gamer, you will actually lose performance "upgrading" to a 8700k since the GPU has a bigger impact on your game performance. I can not be sure a new motherboard will actually solve your problem. However, I do think it is worth it to try it out. Maybe there is a store that allows you to send the newly bought motherboard back in case it does not function like you needed it to? :)

unfortunately no ;/ thats why Im not sure what to do, I cant waste money upgrading one thing a time, either all in or just sell pc and use ps4 :D (and yes Im actually a streamer, just though to try Intel again as was using amd for past few year)

Still would go with a new motherboard first, if not put some effort in selling it online with a 20% loss.

Or like others suggested, maybe there is still a way in troubleshooting.

not sure what to do now, I tried like all I could though about for troubleshooting :/

Reading your old topic, there is still alot of troubleshooting to be done.

How much RAM do you have installed in your system?

Edit* nvm :) read it in the top post.

Try and see if your GPU downclocks it self while playing your games, like fortnite or overwatch. at the moments your fps drops in the low 40's that is.

There is also a tool called "Ryzen Master"

You might want to keep this tool open to see if your CPU thermal throttles for some reason.

Doubt that is the case but.. just to be sure.

hat I have tested, cpu max 69C on load and gpu works on amx load (about 2000Mhz) while in game without any jumps or smth strange all stable, but stutters and fps dropps still happens after some time.

here w

I see you have a overclock going, try to run everything at out of factory settings and for now, try to play those games with just 1 monitor connected. Also it is really worth to try a different PSU like the others have suggested. Do you have 1 to your disposal?
