Malay foods can be really spicy. Even I sometimes have a hard time eating them..

I grow many variety of hot peppers in my backyard. Thai chili, Scorpion and Naga are the hottest I grow.

I'm on 2x PNY GTX 680s (see my signature) and so far no problems. I got decent overclocks on them as well.

I rarely recommend any particular graphics board maker. In terms of sheer card quality hey are all good and I've yet to find evidence (aside from the odd... mistake... like shipping a card that's just plain clocked too high out of the box) that any of them are "bad".

Ohhhh...I see what you did there. I remember what happened. ;)

If there's a price difference of >$25-30, it usually indicates the card has reference coolers. You have to be careful on sites like Amazon with this because sometimes, you can find an R90 280X for $379.99 with an Asus DirectCU II cooler on it, and the same card for like $40 cheaper that is actually a marked up reference cooler with a picture of a DirectCU II cooler on the card. Check vendors before buying anything on Amazon, and make sure they have RMA or return policies that are acceptable.

PNY in general is one of those kind of.. Unpopular brands that just don't sell as much as the 5 big dogs (EVGA, Asus, Gigabyte, Sapphire, and barely-in-there XFX MSi).

The first bit's example might be off/unrealistic but I was shopping around last week and saw this with a few vendors. Just want people to be careful. In that last part, I kind of forgot the "top 5", so one might be wrong. I don't know what I did but I glanced past the MSi bit of your post. That would be one of the Top 5.

Forgot to weigh in what I would stick to.. Gigabyte seems to regularly sell their cards for cheaper than others at near-equivalent performance across the board (temp, factory OC, noise levels), if not better than most. Asus seems to be a rip-off in most cases. I've never seen a good deal on their cards. EVGA/Sapphire are easily next in line if I ever have an issue with a Gigabyte card, or I want something a little more high-end. Classified/ACX coolers and TOXIC, for example, are a good reason why I would choose those two. I don't like MSi's shrouds and I don't think they have decent prices for their performance, so I've yet to see why I should pick them. XFX/PowerColor is almost like, the "well, everything else is out of stock/expensive as hell right now" option, but XFX does have those Black series cards sometimes, which are nice. PowerColor I know zilch about, but some people seem to be happy with them so I'm sure they're an option sometimes. And lastly, Diamond cards.. I've yet to see someone purchase one/show it in a build log or rig picture.

  • 2 weeks later...

Asus gave me a brand new card in two weeks. My last card sagged very badly so they just replaced it. I installed it today. Still Love those guys. :)

You can see from my profile picture that I have a pny gtx 660, I had to get a blower fan because my case has terrible airflow. I have not over clocked, but I have nothing bad to say about it.
