Does anyone know of a good wireless security camera system that will record at 1080p upon motion detection? There have been quite a few thefts and damages to property in my area that needs to stop. I'm not looking to spend a fortune on this system but I'm willing to put a little money into it if needed. I need cameras that are capable of reaching the receiver up to 50ft. I need these cameras to be outdoor proof have night vision and for them to be completely wireless. I would prefer recording to happen about 30 seconds before motion detection and until motion is no longer detected. Cloud services are not a requirement but email or mobile notifications are. Thank for in advance if anyone has a solution for me.

No budget, no one can really help.

I already suggest hardwire if possible, after using/install wifi cameras there is only a few brand that is reliable and in most case you need to upgrade their existing wifi infrastructure as most people are using ISP all in one routers/ap and has pretty shit range and reliability.

If you want something easier is go look at UniFI cameras and software/nvr can run on pretty low spec computers.

Are there actually remote night vision cameras that record at 1080p, I have seen many that offer WiFi, motion detect and night vision but only record at 720p in the darkness. Some do have 1080p in the daylight when there is actually more to capture, but the types of cameras these are, are small with small aspect ratio lenses (70 degrees). Because they have a greater customer requirement that relates to storing all their captured footage for the expected battery drain time.

Maybe consider connecting via CAT 5e to get the 1080p footage you require you will get greater night-time vision (a distance of 6 metres versus 30 metres) than portable ones.

But, by all means, get a small portable, nature watchers type of camera to work out where to install the actual security one!

With wireless there are no guarantees. I mean while the marketing material might say it will got 100ft, you cant count on that. Firstly wireless has many things that can interfere with it. Especially if its a 2.4 Ghz system.  Should also mention you can buy wireless jammers on ebay from pretty cheap. Pretty easy to take out wireless cameras with one of those. Wired ones would have to be manually cut, makings harder for the bad guy.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

They are not cheap for something you are going "hide" in the bushes, are they? And with such a short IR range to trigger the recording at night, you would need to make your suspects "prefer" to walk as close as possible to the camera to capture them in the act!

These are not your mastermind thieves here. It's really for the idiots that like breaking random people's stuff and I'm sick of it.

But 300 for 1 damn camera? The area that they will be in has a fair bit of light. The only issue is that no one is around to catch them in the act.

Do you want "wireless cameras" or a "wireless" connection to the cameras? You can't have a wireless camera turn on "30 seconds before detection", that's not how they work. If you are using wireless cameras, the batteries will get smoked if you're trying to record 24/7. You need a solar panel or hardwired camera's. Camera's can't predict when someone is going to break in your house, they have a trigger that detects motion.

Arlo Pro 2. It's pricy, but it's wireless, free cloud storage, and the Pro 2's over the Pro have a better motion detection and also 1080p, both nightvision. (I have the Arlo Pro (1/one))

Most wireless systems Ive seen they plug in to power, just an FYI.

Those are not plug in. They have rechargeable batteries, or can get solar panel accessories for them. They do not require ac or PoE. Transmits to a base station that is plugged into your router/network.

Used to sell these at Sams Club. The cameras were plug in on the Units we sold.
