I wouldn't buy that for more than maybe 90-100 USD.

A-series CPUs are garbage, even FX would be a better option.

RAM is well-priced, no arguments there. Same goes for PSU.

GPU is half decent, but you won't be able to do a whole lot with it due to a lower VRAM capacity.

the cx600 looks like one of the best parts of this build. Additionally, the FM2+ socket supports the FX processors, right? That motherboard is among Asus' best of the old lineup, and I think an upgraded CPU and GPU would be worth it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

No. FX chips were all on AM3+.

its almost the top chip for that socket it should be ok with a low end GPU or an older flagship.

It depends, but this way he'll absolutely need to buy one so that lowers the value.

I wouldn't buy a 320GB drive for 20$ when I could get a 1TB one for 35... either way even with a hard drive this isn't worth more than 120$.

5400 RPM drives are a real pain, they're so sluggish.

I would only ever use those for a NAS or something similar, never a common use or any kind of gaming machine.

He said I can buy par of it, so I guess RAM and PSU? That graphics is not very good but I feel like it can still run some large games at 1080p with mid effect? I don't know about the board though... It seems to be ok but I don't like AMD that much and it seemed to be a really old processor (I think it might be even worse that macbook air).

It is pretty old.

If you can get the RAM and PSU, then a jump over to X58 or Haswell/Devil's Canyon wouldn't be a bad option

Yeah, I tried to play COD and GTA5 from it and it seemed ok if you have it on low effect on an older computer b/c the computer itself is slow, but I mainly use it for backup. I thought this machine is kind of a great deal but now I don't know if I should buy it.

Yeah, they aren't really good for much.
