Bottom of screen warmer than top of screen. Help?

I've had the same problem now on three monitors: the bottom third of the screen is noticeably warmer/redder than the top third of the screen (cooler/bluer). I've tried two Asus MZ27AQL monitors and now I just set up my BenQ BL2711U only to find the problem even worse.

I've tried adjusting viewing angles, fiddling with the settings, but nothing seems to work. All I want is a nice consistent colour from top to bottom.

Any ideas? Am I just having bad luck?

Is it the cable you're using?

I just tested two different cables on two different computers and the issue persists, unfortunately.

This is incredibly strange.

Given you've tried multiple monitors, cables and PCs...

The only consistent factor... is you.

Or the lighting in your room.

Check both.

Also send some pictures of this happening.

it's time

I took a couple of photos. Also loaded it into photoshop to show the numerical values being shown. As you can see, there's an almost brownish tint to the bottom (the brown is more due to the exposure, when the monitor is bright, it's more of a warm colour, this just illustrates the difference better imo)

So we've eliminated:

Monitor

Cable

PC

You

...is it a software issue somehow? Did you use the same windows install or program on each pc?

God I'm so confused.

It is the same Windows 7 install, but I've also tested it on two other machines running Linux Mint 17.3 and the same issue.

I'm sure the guys at Memory Express will be cursing when they see me walk in the door carrying a monitor box again.

Sure you don't have to perform an exorcism before you bring it back?

I just asked the Dust Bunnies of Discontent. They said, "Nah, bro."

I'll report back when I get back from Memory Express. I'll probably head out in about half an hour.

Returned the monitor and tested out another of the same model; same issue. Back to the drawing board trying to find a monitor.

Could it be the lighting conditions in your room? This is far-fetched but it's time for that.

I tried it under a variety of lighting conditions: halogens, LEDs, and florescents. No difference.

I think what I might have to do is buy a cheapo monitor for my productivity where colour consistency doesn't really matter and then buy a smaller, more expensive monitor for my colour critical work. I've heard that the bigger the screen size, the more issues you're going to run into with dark corners and inconsistent tones.

Just out of curiosity, any opinions on the Samsung QLED monitors? They have 125% sRGB coverage (good enough for my colour needs) and the viewing angles don't bother me as I'm always looking at it from dead on. I have heard that blue reproduction isn't great though.
