Spraying / Painting

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

1. many use plastidip because it's easily removable, but 'regular' spray paint that you would use for a car or similar will work too. You just have to sand your items regardless, because glossy plastic or metal or something is not good with having paint stick to it.

2. Not sure on the exact details, but in terms of conductivity; I know some sprays are conductive, but you wouln't want to spray paint something that is in direct contact with an item's traces anyways.

I was watching some videos on painting peripherals and components, that looks so cool! two questions popped up in my head.

1.- Do modders use an specific type of spray / paint? or any will do?

2.- Is there any spray to avoid? (I don't know, due to conductivity or something, excuse the dumb question)

Thanks!

I used some spray paint I had lying around to add some blue to a case, and I believe if you tape up the parts that are sensitive to paint, you will be fine. I recommend a matte paint for peripherals, but it's up to your tastes.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
