That CPU is from 2010, so I wouldn't count on it running the latest games in very high settings. It closely matches the FX6300 for reference.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

I guarantee you that 1060 will never run at 100% usage.

What games are you playing though? Although more than likely there will be lots of stuttering. That CPUs just too old and underpowered.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

What cpu would you recommend on a tight budget?

How tight?

You could look at used 3rd-4th gen i5's

What would your budget be if you wanted to upgrade? Because you can get some cheap refurbished pre-build from Newegg with 4 to 7 gen i5 or even i7 in it with 8GB of ram and Windows 10.
Newegg Canada

Newegg US

After that if the case isn't a full size ATX case, you should be able to transfer the motherboard and all that from the prebuilt to your existing case and reuse your GPU (and probably the PSU)

The advantage of buying a refurb desktop :
-You know it will work, it was tested
-It's relatively cheap compared to just buying the parts out right

-Less of a headache and you get a store warranty with it

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Bazzite
