The error is due to the BIOS being "out of date" to support that particular CPU (2200G) All you need to do is update the BIOS. That can be done usually with a BIOS update kit from AMD (they send you an old crappy CPU for free to get the system running so you can get the updated BIOS on it)

Since you are planning on using a 2200g, the error is showing. While the B350 series is compatible, it was released before AMD had integrated graphics on Ryzen. This means the motherboard bios may need to be updated before using the 2200g. If you don't have access to a first gen ryzen, follow AMD's instructions to get a boot kit, or choose a B450 motherboard.

To obtain the boot kit, please carefully follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the AMD online warranty claims page: https://support.amd.com/en-us/warranty/rma
  2. Fill in your full contact and product details (2nd Gen Ryzen Processor OPN number and serial number)
  3. In the Problem Description field enter "Boot kit Required" (without quotes)

Would the b350m motherboard work with a 1200g?

There is no such thing as a 1200g. There is a 1200, and that would work just fine since you're using a GPU as a video output

There is no 1200g, as the second series of Ryzen was the first with integrated graphics. It is compatible with the 2200g, but it may not have the bios already upgraded as it needs. For me, I bought a 2200g about 5 months ago, and the motherboard I bought (ASUS Strix B350) already had the upgraded bios. Many motherboard makers, or distributers (ex. newegg) have worked to update the bios on many boards.
