MOBO - z370 gaming F

The cpu cooler wont work when plugget in to CPU_FAN only CPU_OPT and this causes the pc to always give me a warning screen and the only option I have is to enter bios and from there start the pc from the ssd.....  Why is this happening and how can I fix it? Thanks

Is it an AIO cooler or an air cooler?

Try a Chasis fan port on the board, I would also check the PWM settings in the BIOS, may be an issue there somewhere

PWM ?

this shit always happens to me.. I will return it to the store and get a different motherboard...

Normal fans are controlled via DC current, PWM by something called Pulse width Modulation I think but don't quote me, sometimes you can get issues with PWM , I believe you can change wether it uses PWM on certain ports

Ahh, I will just leave it for now and return this shit tomorrow. this sucks.

DC Controlled: Fan speed is managed by varying the DC voltage to increase or decrease the speed of the motor

PWM controlled: Fan speed is managed by varying the duration of a 12v DC pulse to increase of decrease the speed of the motor.

@zindan Disable monitoring of the CPU_FAN header in BIOS to bypass the error.

Okay I plugged it back to cpu_fan and now it decided to work fine :D The error is gone.  Man I swear there is a ghost who likes to mess with me from time to time.
