I planned an AMD build and now I don't know what case should I use:

I want Front audio and USB,

I want to Air cool,

I can pay about 10-15 bucks more if case offers fans too - 2 intake and 1 exhaust - 140mm

I want tempered glass

I want RGB IF available for low cost, or I'll go for LED strip or something

I am not on an open budget, but don't want to compromise alot too...

Build:

AMD Ryzen 5 1600

XFX Radeon RX 580

Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1x8) DDR4 2666

ASUS Prime X370-PRO

EVGA GQ 80+ 650 GOLD MODULAR

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Thanks in advance

are you overclocking the CPU? if so get something like a H100i. mine is currently mining 7 of 8 cores on a 8120 oc'd to 4.9Ghz at 95% CPU use average temp is 55c I never go above 62c. and my temps are 56c atm and i am streaming WAN show and doing this. also the 2700 is a better chip for very little more.

also you need 3200 RAM no higher than 3600 though. Ryzen works much better CPU wise with higher freq RAM

You need to grab 3000/3200 mhz 2*4GB kit of Ram instead. Singlechannel 2666mhz Ram will slow down your pc quite a bit

I plan to upgrade to 16 GB - 2x8, though I do take the speed into consideration...

Tell me the name and model of some 3000 MHz RAM 1x8

K then I'll go for it, If I can get like 2 more core for even $25, thanks for saving me!!

the 2 extra cores is 1800 or 2800. the 2700 is a gen 2 ryzen so works better with RAM and a little better on self overclocking/auto turbo boost also you can get higher overclocks on it for straight over clocking.

He might have to get a X470 board to enshure compatibility with BIOS. Unless his specific board comes woth CPU-less Biosflashing

AMD can send me a dummy CPU, that is used to update the BIOS to the 2nd gen RYZEN CPU, but thne that cots too, and I am good with a 1600 anyway.

Leave the parts guys, just tell me the case with the features mentioned!!

If it was a 250 or older 350 yes but those are mostly fixed and the old stock was recalled flashed and repackaged for most manufactures. If he does end up needing to have a CPU to flash bios LTT reported that they will send a RENTAL CPU which only has like 2 cores on it to do this and a return label. not all do this but a bunch have been. A CC is needed and they only put a hold on the amount until returned so you don't have to pay interest etc.

Imnbeing nittpicky, but Ryzen never had 200 series board. Also boards with older 300 series BIOS are out on the market still. 400 series is something i recommend as some boards have new VRMs. Like the newer B450 tomahawk

@mbasil22

There u got cases. I love corsair cases as the customer service is great and parts are almost always avaliable. i have a 500 carbine from 2009 that the front panel failed and a new one with audio USB 3.0 and pwr.reset buttons and fan controller was only $5USD inc shipping.

also do you intend to do any overclocking? that coolermaster evo will not do very well. I recommend any AIO from corsair. I think the H series AIO H60 is $69 and the H100 is about $100 and both are well worth it. I have had my H100i v1 from 2008 and has been in 4 systems and still going strong on a OC of 4.9Ghz on a FX8120 125w on full load only maxes out at 55c. with the Same air cooler you have here I couldn't get about 4.1 without over heating and throttling. as the gen 2 ryzen has a very robust auto turboing feature it will turbo higher automatically if it is on a better cooler.

EDIT: FYI the FX 8120 is a very hot CPU and base clock is 3.1

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XS364S8/ref=twister_B07GL98WDJ

the spec-4 has everything but RGB the Spec-6 looks better imho and has RGB and both will fit single or double radiator systems if you go water later.

the spec-4 is $50 and the Spec-6 $80

for other options. try to stick with big name companies that have been around since before 2005. you will get the best support later for parts if needed. Also try to make sure it can fit a 240 radiator at least somewhere just in case. (lol that was very punny)

@STRESSMASTER

I think the Spec series are not worth it, cause the light is barely visible until the room is like very dark, which my isn't, and that amount of RGB is not what I would pay $80 for, should I go for some corsair h500 or phanteks p350x

Ryzen doesn't run anywhere near as hot as the old FX cpu's. A Cryorig H7 or similar would be fine.

That is the reason I chose the Hyper 212 EVO, and it differs from cryorig h7 from just 4 degreesC highr, so I think I'd be better off with 212
