Return Apple Customer Repair Unit?

This is probably the wrong kind of website to be asking Mac and Apple questions on, but I'm desperate, I'm not getting any replies on Apple Forums; so if there are any Apple people or Apple insiders on here, I'd appreciate some insight/help. So, I was given a CRU (Customer Replacement Unit) at the Apple store because I've been having Kernel Panic issues. They gave me a brand new computer and even gave me a receipt for it. My question is, does Apple treat CRUs like new purchases, and do they fall under the 14 day return policy? Is there any way I can return it for a refund? They did not give me the entire package, just the MBP itself, because I already had the charger. My plan is to use the money from that to get an XPS 13

Thank You in Advance
